Issue 6: Letter From the Editor

Hello, and welcome to Kaleidoscope Teen Magazine’s sixth issue!

We just witnessed one of the most important elections in American history. Before the results of this election was released a lot of us were unsure if America will either regress, stay the same, or make progress forward. This is why voting is very important. Many of us voted for the first time, and I am so proud of Gen Z because we got out there, voted either by mail or in person, and made sure our voices were heard.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are now President and Vice-President elect of the United States. We can all celebrate, but remember the work has just begun.

The theme for our sixth issue is the 2020 Election. In this issue, we will be discussing reactions to the election, the importance of voting, and applying to college. We will also be adding a Kaleidoscope Teen Spotify playlist with music suggestions from the KTM staff.

My name is Gabriella Alleyne and I’m the creator of Kaleidoscope Teen Magazine. I am originally from New York City. I am a freshmen at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. I’m majoring in Dance and I want to double major in African American Studies and minor in Public Relations. I am a dancer and a Brown Girls Do Ballet Ambassador. I love to write poetry, perform, and make YouTube videos.
